Bet365 Sport: Does It Offer Great Value Sports Betting Odds?

There are many different facets to a successful sports betting site. Of course the site must offer the punter a good reason to join initially, in the form of a new player offer (incidentally, if you fancy taking advantage of Bet365 Sport’s starter bonus, click the link for the latest Bet365 bonus codes and information to get you started). However the reasons why people play at a site extend well beyond the opening bonus.

The choice of individual sports and the variety of markets available on each event, the number of promotions and offers available on the site, how reliable and secure the site is when it comes to financial transactions and of course its scheme for rewarding loyal players are also big influences on whether a punter feels a site offers them value.

The value of consistently strong odds

However, even these enticements pale into insignificance when it comes to the serious, long-term punter. For these punters know that the best value any site can offer comes not from its features, promotions and offers, but from the driving force of its betting market, the odds it offers to punters.

More specifically, how those odds compare when compared in general to the other top online bookmaking sites available to UK-based customers.

In this article, we are going to look at one of our two featured Sports betting partners, Bet365 Sport and investigate thoroughly just whether Bet365 are offering punters great value when it comes to the odds they offer on a number of sporting events.

For the purposes of context only, the odds stated in this article were taken around lunchtime on Monday 5th October 2015 using the betting odds comparison site Oddschecker.

Let’s take a look at how the odds offered by Bet365 for a total of 15 different bets available at lunchtime on the date stated above compared:

What does the data tell us about Bet365 Odds?

Bet365 Grand National Odds

In the selection above we have tried to cover a wide range of markets across a wide range of sports available on Bet365 Sports and we have then compared the odds given with Bet365 with a total of 21 other sports books (we did not include betting exchanges in this article).

We have also covered bets that are available for a short time on the day in question, some medium term bets (which will take place within the next week or two) as well as a number of longer term bets which will only be resolved in 2016.

At first glance what is abundantly clear with Bet365 is that even if the company do not offer the best odds on a market, then they generally offer odds that are almost as good as the market leading odds. In many cases though, Bet365 do offer the best odds on markets (as you can see in several of the bets selected above).

Of course, given the number of bookmakers out there, the fact bookies will often artificially enhance certain markets to make them more attractive to punters and the fact that many sites will have their own promotions and offers running for bets, it is impossible for any one site to offer the best odds on all markets all the time.

What is absolutely clear though is that in terms of general value for money, Bet365 tends to offer its punters a great deal as if they are not the best odds available on a typical market, they tend to be near the best and are seldom, if ever, the worst price option available on the market for a specific bet.

The data also shows that on occasion, Bet365 can offer significantly better prices on selected markets than other bookmakers. A great example of this is the bet on Hadrian’s Approach to win the 2016 Grand National. At Bet365 you can back this bet at 66/1, that is double the price currently on offer with Paddy Power who offer the same bet at just 33/1.

In money terms, if you placed a £50 bet on this now with Bet365 and come April, Hadrian’s Approach won the race, you would receive back £1.650 plus your £50 stake with Paddy Power, but with Bet365 your £50 stake would be returned with a win of £3,300. A massive difference.

Conclusion

In short, a review of the odds on offer at Bet365 shows us that the company generally offers its punters a very good deal when it comes to odds on sports betting markets. Many times the site offers the best odds on a market (and these can then be enhanced by other promotions and deals available on the site) and in the situations where the company is not the best odds option, they generally offer comparable odds.

More importantly, it is extremely rare that Bet365 are the poor value odds option on any sports betting market.

What this means is that sports betting punters can be confident that they get a great value long term deal when it comes to the odds offered on their bets with Bet365 Sport.
