Big Double Header of Premier League Fixtures Across the Christmas Week

The festive fixture list is always a busy one in the Premier League. While teams in Germany, Italy, Spain and France put their feet up to take a short winter break for a few weeks, teams in England will face a busy fixture list, which includes a total of four Premier League games in a period of between 10-12 days for most teams.

Of course, the Christmas and New Year football has become part of the tradition of this time of the year in the UK and it is also a hugely popular time with punters, with many enjoying a flutter on the feat of football that comes their way. If you fancy doing likewise, bet365 Sport is the place to head. Sign up using the bet365 New Player Bonus and you could also earn yourself up to £100 in bet credits once you are betting on the site.

Given that we have Matchday’s 18 and 19 coming up within just a few days of each other right over the Christmas period, we are going to take a look ahead to both Matchdays, give you our tips on the ten games in each and also provide you with an accumulator bet for both days which we feel is good value and also stands a solid chance of landing you a festive win.

Let’s begin by taking a look at the fixtures for Matchday 18

Matchday 18 – Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd December

All matches played 3pm Sat 22nd December unless stated

  • Wolves v Liverpool (21st Dec, 8pm)

Wolves have earned some great results at home against top teams including draws with Everton and Man City and they will hope for a similar, if not better outcome against Liverpool, but the Reds are flying at the moment and in truth, with that back line it is hard to see them conceding. Liverpool to earn a narrow and hard fought win (1/2).

  • Arsenal v Burnley (12.30pm)

The Gunners will want to bounce back immediately following their defeat last week at Southampton and this game against struggling Burnley at home is the perfect opportunity to do precisely that. I can’t see anything other than a big win for Arsenal in this one (2/9).

  • Bournemouth v Brighton

A rare south coast derby game between two sides who play the game the right way. Bournemouth have been in poor form of late and I fancy Brighton to get something here, however I am just not sure the Seagulls can earn the victory, hence the draw (13/5) is a good option.

  • Chelsea v Leicester

After beating Manchester City 2-0 a few weeks back, Chelsea are back in form and with Eden Hazard looking back to his best, I think a torrid afternoon is likely for a Leicester side that have done relatively well against the top sides. I can’t think they’ll get anything here though as I am backing Chelsea to win (1/3).

  • Huddersfield v Southampton

Another massive game for both these teams in the relegation battle. Huddersfield’s record of just three home goals is a massive concern and I don’t think they will find the net here against a Saints team boosted by that win over Arsenal. I’m going for a rare Saints away win (29/20)

  • Man City v Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace can frustrate any team but I think their chances of doing so against Manchester City are very slim. City look incredible at times this season and with de Bruyne coming back form injury, along with Aguero, they should get a comfortable win over Palace (1/8).

  • Newcastle v Fulham

After a great win away to Huddersfield last week, Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez will know another win here over a relegation rival and bottom club Fulham would be a huge tonic to his team. Fulham can score, but cannot defend and that will be their undoing here. Newcastle to win (19/20).

  • West Ham v Watford

I’ve been very impressed with West Ham of late, they have picked up some excellent wins over the last few games and look a much more impressive side. Watford too have had a good season, but I think the Hammers will just about edge this one (13/10).

  • Cardiff v Manchester United (5.30pm)

United’s caretaker boss will be desperate to get a statement win in their first game and I think the bounce-factor that teams get when a new manager comes in means that Cardiff are going to find this one a very difficult afternoon. United to get a much needed win (11/20).

  • Everton v Tottenham (23rd Dec, 4pm)

Tottenham have a great record over Everton in recent games, losing just three of the last 20 between the two teams (winning nine of those games). Everton have improved but they have fallen short against the top sides and I think that could well happen again here. Spurs to land a narrow win (23/20).

Matchday 18 Acca Tip

  • Liverpool to beat Wolves – 1/2
  • Bournemouth v Brighton – Draw – 13/5
  • Huddersfield v Southampton – Away Win – 29/20
  • Everton v Tottenham – Away Win – 23/20

This fourfold at the stated prices with bet365 (which were correct as of 2.15pm on Wednesday 19th December) would return at odds of 27.44/1, which means a £10 bet, if a winner, would see you land winnings of £274.40, plus your stake money back.

Matchday 19 – Wednesday 26th to Thursday 27th December

All matches played 3pm Wed 26th December unless stated and all odds shown were correct as of 2.15pm on Wednesday 19th December 2018.

  • Fulham v Wolves (12.30)

A game Fulham will feel they must win, but where I feel the odds are against them against a disciplined, well-organised and talented Wolves side. As badly as Fulham need the win, I’m backing Wolves to get the win here (5/4).

  • Burnley v Everton

Another tough game for Burnley to navigate and Sean Dyche must be a worried man heading into the second half of the season. The Clarets have not been at their best all season long and Everton are perfectly capable of getting the right winning result for themselves here (4/5)

  • Crystal Palace v Cardiff

Cardiff are still to find any semblance of form on the road this season but their performances are improving. So are Palace’s at home and I think that could be the crucial factor here as I’m backing Palace to land a narrow one-goal win (4/6).

  • Leicester v Man City

The teams drew 1-1 in the Carabao Cup Quarterfinal a week or so ago, but Manchester City will have their full-strength team out for this one. Leicester may have Vardy back but even so I feel they’ll need much more than that to worry City. This should be a straightforward away win (3/10).

  • Liverpool v Newcastle

It’ll be interesting to see how Rafa Benitez does on his return to Anfield especially with Liverpool flying at the moment. Newcastle are resolute defensively and they’ll come for a point I am sure, but Liverpool should be more than capable of earning another big win here (1/7).

  • Man Utd v Huddersfield

With Jose Mourinho now gone, this will be United’s new caretaker boss’s first opportunity to play in front of the Old Trafford faithful since being appointed and in truth, it should be a straightforward afternoon against a Huddersfield side sorely lacking goals. An easy home win (2/7).

  • Tottenham v Bournemouth

Bournemouth’s good start to the season seems a good while ago now as the Cherries have hit a patch of poorer form. Spurs have been picking up wins regularly this season and they should be god value for another win at home here (1/3).

  • Brighton v Arsenal (5.15pm)

I have a feeling after a tricky trip to Southampton, this could be another potential banana skin for Arsenal. Brighton are a decent side and can cause teams more than a few problems. Arsenal showed they were fallible at Southampton and I’m backing the draw here (11/4).

  • Watford v Chelsea (7.30pm)

Last season, Watford won this game 4-1 at Vicarage Road, but I cannot see a repeat of that result or performance here. Chelsea look strong and Eden Hazard is getting back to his best form and that means the Londoners should end up with the three points (8/13).

  • Southampton v West Ham (Thu 27th Dec , 7.45pm)

The final game of Matchday 19 comes at St Mary’s with in form West Ham the visitors. Southampton beat Arsenal at home last time out and they will want to build on that against the Hammers, but I feel West Ham have too much flair to end up the losers. A draw at 9/4 looks the best bet for me.

Matchday 19 Acca Tip

  • Wolves to beat Fulham – 5/4
  • Everton to beat Burnley – 4/5
  • Crystal Palace to beat Cardiff – 4/6
  • Southampton v West Ham – Draw – 9/4

Place this fourfold for the games on Boxing Day and the 27th December with bet365 at the odds above and you would get odds of 20.93/1 on the bet. That means a £10 stake, if your bet was a winner, would return you £209.30 in winnings, plus your stake money back.
