Take A Tip Or Two From The SkyBet Team of Sporting Pundits

If you are someone who enjoys regular sports betting then there is no doubt that like almost every other punter, you will listen to advice and tips from experts in the hope that they could put Pundits SkyBetyou on a bet that leads you to that big win you are dreaming about.

Tipping services are not a modern thing. For many years, newspapers in the UK have had their own resident tipsters who have given their readers the benefit of their wisdom and have provided punters with their tips, ostensibly on the days horseracing.  That continues to this very day.

However, the development of the Internet has ushered in the digital age and the proliferation of sports channels, such as Sky Sports have seen an ever increasing number of experts and pundits fill our screens across a wide variety of sports.

Allied to this, there has also been a marked increase in other forms of sports betting other than horseracing, with football betting in particular becoming as popular for betting enthusiasts as the Sport of Kings nowadays.

With so many punters now betting on a vast range of sports offered by online sports books like SkyBet, there was a gap in the market for tipsters on a wide range of sports and SkyBet have moved to fill that with their team of six sporting pundits.

You can read their views on their respective blogs without being a SkyBet customer, but if you want to place a bet after reading you will of course need to register with SkyBet. Check out this link for the latest information about the latest Sky new player bonus.

Let’s now learn a little more about each of the SkyBet pundits and how they pass on their tips.

Who are the SkyBet Pundits?

Tips SkyBet PunditsSkyBet is home to six pundits who between them cover a range of different sports, almost all of which enjoy extensive coverage on Sky Sports.

The pundits are:

  • Alex Hammond – A Sky Sports News presenter, Alex Hammond is SkyBet’s resident horseracing pundit and being married to champion jockey Richard Quinn gives her an inside view on the Sport of Kings. A keen amateur jockey, Alex presents her tips on her blog ahead of major meetings, as well as offering Sky viewers and readers her “Tip of the Day” every day of the week.
  • Jamie Redknapp – A former international football, Jamie Redknapp has become one of the most respected pundits on Sky Sports football coverage and is regularly seen providing insight as a guest on live football games from the Premier League. Son of Harry Redknapp and an ex-Tottenham, Liverpool, Southampton and Bournemouth star, Redknapp is one of the most shrewd pundits working on Sky Sports football output.
  • Sir Ian Botham – A cricketing legend who has been a regular commentator on Sky Sports cricket coverage for many years now. Sir Ian provided punters with his views on cricket ahead of major test series involving England around the globe in his irreverent and often forthright way.
  • Rob Lee – A former winner on the European Tour, Rob Lee gave up life as a tour pro in 1999 and has since become one of the main presenters of Sky Sports golf coverage. Along with Sarah Stirk, Rob is Sky Sports foremost golf presenter and he regularly gives punters his insight into the biggest golf tournaments of the year.
  • Johnny Herbert – Ever since Sky Sports purchased the rights to F1, Johnny Herbert has been a key member of their team. The former F1 driver, with 160 races to his name, is a popular figure in the industry and throughout the F1 season, from March through to November, Johnny gives punters his tips for each of the forthcoming races.
  • Ed Chamberlin – Unlike most of the other punters who cut their teeth in the sporting world, Ed Chamberlin gained his knowledge from behind the camera as a sports presenter. He has presented a range of sports shows on Sky Sports, as well as being a regular member of the Sky Sports News team. Now taking charge of the channel’s soccer coverage, Ed offers punters his tips on a wide range of sports, including football and horseracing.

How do they inform readers of their tips?

Other than Alex Hammond who presents her Tip of the Day on Sky Sports News as well as on the SkyBet website, all the other pundits will offer their tips via a blog, which can be linked to SkyBet Pundits Tipswhen visiting the Betting Tips page on the SkyBet website.

Each blog post usually previews a key sporting event and in addition to this, each pundit will give punters a selection of tips relating to that key sporting event. So, for example, if the US Open golf tournament was due to take place, Rob Lee would post a blog about this and give you his insight into what he thought would be good bets for this tournament for punters to take a look at.

How often are the blogs updated?

In truth it depends on the time of the year, the sport in question and the pundit in question.  Alex Hammond’s Tip of the Day for example is updated every day of the year on which there is horseracing. Jamie Redknapp and Ed Chamberlin’s blogs are also regularly updated given the amount of football there is shown on the Sky Sports platform.

The other pundits tend to post a little less frequently, although Johnny Herbert’s blog is updated frequently during the F1 season from March to November. The Cricket, Golf and Horseracing blogs however tend to only be updated when there is a major event on the horizon pertaining to that sport (usually around once per month, although posts can appear at any time).
