What Is Your Hand History On Sky Poker And How Can You Use It Beneficially?

One of the best things about joining a site like Sky Poker is the sheer number of options available to you on the site, not just in terms of poker, but also with regards to the different features Sky Poker Hand History Logthat can help increase your enjoyment of the game or help you improve as a player.

So when you’ve got your Sky Poker no deposit bonus sorted and have played a few hands on the site, if things have not quite gone as well as you would have hoped, how can you go about halting this decline and instead, start winning more games than you are losing?

In essence, how can you iron out your mistakes as a new player and start to play more profitable poker for the long term?

Of course, the first thing to do here is to start to analyse your game, but if you are a beginner that can be tricky. How can you tell if you are playing good or bad poker, if you don’t actually understand what good or bad poker is in the first place?

It is a tricky situation and one that in the past, players could only resolve through trial and error at their local poker room. However, at Sky Poker, there is a better solution and that is through using the Hand History feature.

What is the Hand History feature and where can I find it on the site?

Sky Hand HistoryLet’s answer the second part of that question first. The Hand History section is located in the My Sky Poker tab. Simply move your pointer or click on it on your mobile, to bring up a list of options under the My Sky Poker tab one of which is Hand History.

Once you have selected the Hand History section you can then use the filtering options on the left hand side of the screen to locate the hand(s) that you wish to review. You can check for hands played in the last hour, 2 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours, 1 day, 2 days or a week, and you can further narrow down your search by defining

  • The type of game you were playing (Hold’em, Omaha, Omaha Hi Lo)
  • The format of the game you were playing (Cash Table or Tournaments)
  • Whether you won more than a set amount at the table
  • Whether you lost more than a set amount at the table
  • Or if you know it (and noted it down when playing) you can locate your hand by entering the Unique Hand ID number

You can use these features to look at specific hands in a tournament or cash table game you played in more detail to analyse your play, but if you note down the Hand Identification Number shown with the hand, you can also do something else which is hugely beneficial to a novice player seeking insight into their game.

I’ve got my Hand History I need to analyse, what now?

So you’ve pinpointed the hands you feel are costing you cash, but you could really do with letting a poker expert cast their eye over it and give you some advice. However, with Sky Poker, you can Sky Poker Hand History 2do this with not just one poker expert, but a whole site of them thanks to the Sky Poker Community – Strategy section.

In this section you can download the details of the hand you are requiring advice about using the Hand Identification Number. Simply create a post in the relevant section of the Community part of the site and add the Hand Identification Number. This will then add all the details of the hand in question to your post.

Include as much information as you can about other players at the table, how previous hands have panned out or any other observations you have made and then post your query. You could ask, for example, for players to review how you played the hand, why you didn’t win it (or if you did, how you could have made more money from it) and to give you suggestions on what better play would be to use in future in similar situations.

What then happens is that you post this as a thread in the Strategy section of the Community and then other Sky Poker customers will log in and check out what has been posted. They will review your hand and then write responses detailing what you did right/wrong and offering advice and observations which you can then use to inform and improve your play.

This means that rather than analyse the hand yourself and risk making the wrong assessment or assumptions as to why you didn’t win a hand, you are instead taking advice from a large proportion of players that have direct experience of winning on the site, many of whom are very experienced and talented poker players.

Remember too that the Strategy section does not delete your posts when they come to an end and as such, you have a vast repository here of poker knowledge which you can search through and scan to help improve your game. This is because you can read the responses made to other players posts on topics that are or direct interest and relevance to you.

And as I improve as a player, how can Hand History help me then?

One of the key skills you will learn as your poker ability grows is the ability to analyse your own play and realise where in a hand you made a mistake and how you can then use this to self-evaluate your play and thus improve.

Of course, this takes time to develop and you do need a good grasp of poker skills and strategy to be able to evaluate your game well, but the Hand History option allows you that opportunity for hands going back up to a week.

The Hand History feature is much more than simply logging your poker activity on the Sky Poker site. When used effectively as outlined above, it can be a hugely beneficial tool towards helping you improve your game and allow you to turn more of those losses into a profit.
