Multiple Bets – What They Are And What You Are Betting On – Part Two

Last week, we brought you information on how you could place Full Cover Bets at Bet365 Sport, how the stakes for these bets are calculated and we showed you how winnings on a bet are also worked out and whether these bets can be profitable forms of betting.

We focused last week on the six main Full Cover Bets available at the site, Patent, Yankees, Super-Yankees, Heinz, Super Heinz and Goliath bets, although Full Cover bets of more Bet365 Lucky 15 Betselections are permitted and called “Block” bets.

However, there are more than simply Full Cover Bets to pick from when you are considering multiple bets at Bet365 Sport and in this second part of the article, we are going to take a look at two other multiple bets you can place. Namely, Full Cover With Singles bets, as well as Bet365’s Banker Bets.

Remember, you can join Bet365 by following the instructions on our detailed review page which brings you information on the latest Bet365 bonus code no deposit offers.

Full Cover With Singles Bets

For bets of between three and four selections, it is also possible to place a slightly modified full cover bet, these are known as Full Cover Bets with singles.

As the name suggests, these bets cover all the same lines on a full cover bet, with the addition of each single selection being backed to win individually too. As such, the cost of placing these bets is equal to the number of lines in the full cover bet plus the number of selections on the bet slip.

For example, if you wanted to place a Full Cover Bet With Singles on Four selections, this is known as a Lucky 15 as you cover the same 11 Bets on a Four Selection Full Cover Yankee Bet, plus each of the four selections as a single bet, a total of 15 individual bets.

The full list of Full Cover Bets With Singles options are outlined below:

Full Cover With Singles Bet Name No of Selections Number of Lines What the bet consists of
Patent 3 7 3 Singles, 3 Doubles, 1 Treble
Lucky 15 4 15 4 Singles, 6 Doubles, 4 Trebles, 1 Fourfold
Lucky 31 5 31  5 Singles, 10 Doubles, 10 Trebles, 5 Fourfolds, 1 Fivefold
Lucky 63 6 63  6 Singles, 15 Doubles, 20 Trebles, 15 Fourfolds, 6 Fivefolds, 1 Sixfold

One thing to note on Bet365 is that if you want to place a Full Cover With Singles bet on bets of more than six selections, then you have to do this by selecting the Full Cover bet that matches your number of selections. For example, if this was an eight selection bet, this would be a Goliath and then you also need to select the “Singles” option from the list and back both these selections at the same unit stake.

By backing both the singles and all the Full Cover bets, you are essentially placing a Full Cover With Singles bet, covering the same options you would back if you picked that specific option as available on other sites.

What’s different about a Full Cover With Singles bet?

The key difference between this type of bet and a standard Full Cover bet, such as a Yankee or Heinz bet, is that any of the above bets will offer you a return on a single selection winning, whereas on the other full cover bets, you need at least two selections to win.

However, it is important to note that the same general rule of thumb regarding returns with Full Cover with Singles bets still applies, in that the more selections that come in the more chance you have of generating a profit. A single selection winning for you is unlikely, depending on the odds, to guarantee you a profit in most cases.

How is a Full Cover With Singles bet paid out?

Let’s say you place a Patent bet on three selections with a unit stake of £1. The bet therefore costs you £7 to place and you back the following as your individual selections for the bet:

  • Liverpool to beat Chelsea at 2/1
  • Manchester United to beat Leicester at Evens
  • Newcastle United to beat Chelsea at 6/1

In a worst case scenario, if none of these bets win, then you lose £7. However if only one selection wins, unlike a full cover bet, you would guarantee a return with a Patent bet.

However, if the one selection that won was the Manchester United one, then you would only receive back £2, a loss of £5 overall on the bet. However, if Newcastle was your one team to win, then you would receive back £7 (as their odds are much higher) and you would break even.

If two or more selections win, then your winnings will increase markedly up to all three bets coming off in which case a successful patent bet at the odds outlined above where all three teams win would return a total of £95, a total profit of £88.

Banker Bets

Banker Bets Bet365If you want even more flexibility to back multiple selections then Banker Bets are another great option at Bet365 Sport.

These bets have to be selected by clicking on the bet selection button (which has Standard set as the default option) and then selecting “Bankers” from the drop down list.

With these type of bets, out of the selections on your bet slip you can select one, or more, of your selections as banker bets. In order for your bet to generate any return, then your Banker Bet selections must all win.

When you have selected your banker bet, you can then decide which combination of bets to back.

You can select your Banker Bet and each one of the other selections singly (in the example illustrated, there are three additional selections) which is noted down on Bet365 as 1B + 1/3.

This means you have 1 Banker bet (1B) plus one of your three other selections (+1/3) must win in order to generate a return. To cover this option you need to place three individual bets, hence the bet is 3x your Unit Stake.

You can also cover your Banker Bets and 2 of your 3 selections to win (1B + 2/3) which again is three separate bets, or your Banker Bet plus All three selections to win (1B + 3/3) which is a single line bet.
