Premier League Returns with Tottenham Taking on Manchester City

After a two-week break due to international fixtures, the Premier League returns to action this coming weekend and there are a number of hugely important games lined up for teams in all positions of the current league table. Second placed Spurs face a big test at home to Manchester City in one of the biggest games of the weekends, while top of the table Leicester will visit Anfield to take on third placed Liverpool, with the Reds suffering from a huge number of injuries and illness to key players.

Other crucial games see Manchester United facing West Brom with both teams in badly need of a win. Wolves face Southampton in another top half clash, while Leeds United will welcome Arsenal to Elland Road in a game that both sides will feel is very much a winnable contest.

If you would like to enjoy a wager on the outcome of the Premier League action this weekend, including that huge game in London between Spurs and City, then you may need to join up with a betting site that offers a wide range of Premier League bets as well as a great starter deal for new customers. One great place to start is with the current bet365 Welcome Bonus for new players.

An alternative in some other states is the latest DraftKings Online Sportsbook service which offers a great sign-up deal, as well as extensive sports betting and fantasy sports options too.

Let’s now take a look ahead to the return of the Premier League this weekend, with a number of teams suffering from injury-hit squads due to the intense workload players are enduring at the moment due to the shortened season.

Premier League – Matchday 9 – Fixtures and Tips

Newcastle United v Chelsea (Sat 12.30pm)

13th placed Newcastle take on 5th placed Chelsea at St James’ Park in the opening game of the weekend. The Magpies have been pretty inconsistent this season especially at home but they have won their last two on Tyneside against Burnley and Everton. Since 0-0 draws against Sevilla and Man Utd, Chelsea have won their last four in all competitions, scoring 14 goals and conceding just one and they’ll be keen to keep that run going here. It will be a hard fought game but I do feel Chelsea will do just enough to claim the win. Correct Score Tip – Chelsea to win 2-1 – 7/1.

Aston Villa v Brighton (Sat 3pm)

Which Aston Villa will turn up here? The one that thrashed Liverpool and trounced Arsenal on the road last time out, or the one that lost 3-0 to Leeds? Brighton have played some nice football this season but have not got the results those performances have merited but I think this is a game that they will be right up for. However, Ross Barkley has been an inspired addition to the Villa midfield and as such, I think the home side will clinch the win here. Correct Score Tip – Aston Villa to win 2-0 – 12/1.

Tottenham v Manchester City (Sat 5.30pm)

This is a big game for both these teams in terms of their title aspirations. A win for Spurs could put them top of the table after the weekend and leave City well off the pace. A win for City would move them right on the heels of the top six with a game in hand. For me, City are not yet at the level they were at over the past two tears and I do feel this is Spurs best chance to beat them in a long time. They have some outstanding attacking options and I feel Bale could be the difference maker here. Correct Score Tip – Back Tottenham to win 3-2 at 33/1.

Manchester United v West Brom (Sat 8pm)

United lie 14th in the table with 10 points from seven games, while the Baggies are yet to win this season but have drawn three games to lie 18th. Slaven Bilic’s side are struggling but battling hard but it is hard to see them having the quality to get a result here against a United side who badly need to get back to some winning form. I think they’ll achieve that here. Correct Score Tip – Man Utd to win 2-0 is 13/2 with bet365.

Fulham v Everton (Sun 12pm)

Fulham have beaten just West Brom so far this season in the Premier League and they face an Everton side who are very much on the slide after an excellent start, Carlo Ancelotti will want to halt this poor run of results quickly and I think they can achieve that against a Fulham side who have looked second best to most of the teams they faced this season. Correct Score Tip – Everton to win 2-0 at 10/1.

Sheffield United v West Ham (Sun 2pm)

Can the Blades pick up their first win of the season at home to West Ham? Chris Wilder’s side are rooted to the bottom of the table and despite some encouraging performances, cannot seem to find a win. The Hammers lie 12th and have lost just one of their last five and I think they will continue their run of better form here. Correct Score Tip – West Ham to win 2-1 is a 10/1 shot with bet365.

Leeds United v Arsenal (Sun 4.30pm)

Leeds come into this game with just one win in their last five games and Arsenal have just two wins in that time. It’s been a tough period for both teams but I do fear for Arsenal here. Leeds pacy, pressing games is something that Arsenal have struggled with in the past and I think that the home side could be on to earn something from the game. I just don’t feel it will be all three points. Correct Score Tip – Take the 1-1 draw here at 13/2.

Liverpool v Leicester City (Sun 7.15pm)

It is going to be hard to fathom which team Liverpool will be able to put out for this game with at least six of their first choice players either not available or not likely to be 100% match fit. Having already won at Manchester City, this could be Leicester’s best chance to win at Anfield for a long time and the Foxes, who top the table, are certainly in the form to do that. However, the Reds unbeaten record at Anfield has stood for a long time and I think it will remain intact here, although they may have to settle for a share of the spoils. Correct Score Tip – 1-1 draw – 15/2.

Burnley v Crystal Palace (Mon 5.30pm)

Burnley are without a win in the Premier League and face a Palace side who are relatively comfortable in eighth after a good start to the season. A lack of goals (just 3 so far) is hurting Burnley a great deal and while they don’t concede too many (12) you always feel if they go a goal down it could be a huge problem. As such I am backing Palace for an away day victory here. Correct Score Tip – Back Crystal Palace to win 1-0 at 7/1.

Wolves v Southampton (Mon 8pm)

The final game of the week is perhaps one of the most intriguing as 9th placed Wolves try to get back to winning ways against a Southampton side who have won five of their last six, only drawing away to Chelsea in that time. Danny Ings injury is a blow for Saints and I think that could well be a pivotal issue in this game. Wolves need to find some better form with just one win in their last three in the Premier League and I think they snatch a narrow win here. Correct Score Tip – Take Wolves to win 1-0 at 7/1.
