Over the last few years, Sky Bet has tried to come up with several different promotions and offers to keep punters coming to their site. Free to play games such as Gillette Soccer Saturday’s Super 6 promotion, which is free to play and offers a top prize of £250,000, is one popular promotion but at times the site has struggled to match the quality and variety of offers that you find on competitors sites.
However that changes recently when after another revamp of its promotional material, Sky Bet decided to offer punters outstanding long-term value by way of developing the Sky Bet Club.
It is worth taking a look at our Sky no deposit offers page, as this will still give you a Sky Bet account and allow you to take up this offer, as well as earning £10 free to try on Sky Poker.
What is Sky Bet Club?
Sky Bet Club is an opt in promotion on Sky Bet where users can earn a free bet to the value of £5 every week that they remain a member of the club. There is no time limit on how long you can be a member of Sky Bet Club, nor a limit on how many free bets you can earn over time. Provided you meet the standards for remaining in the Sky Bet Club each week, or fulfil the criteria to rejoin after you dropped out, then you will be eligible to receive a free £5 bet.
How do I join and remain part of Sky Bet Club?
The first thing you must do to participate in this promotion is opt in to it by clicking on the Opt In button on the promotional page for Sky Bet Club on the Sky Bet website. Once you have opted into the offer, you need to complete the criteria for earning a free £5 bet.
That criteria is very simple and that is to place a bet, or a number of bets, totalling £25 or more in the qualifying week.
In order for the bet to be a qualifying bet, it must be placed on a market with odds of greater than even money chance. You can place some multiple bets as qualifying bets, however they must also be at odds of even money or greater to qualify.
So for example, if you wanted to include Tottenham to beat Aston Villa at odds of 4/7, you could not use them for the offer, however if you paired Tottenham up with another selection (say Swansea City to beat Everton at 7/5), this would be a Double bet and would return at odds of 2.77/1. Therefore you could place this bet and it would qualify towards your £25 weekly bet minimum.
You have from 00:01 on Monday through until 23:59 the following Sunday within which to place your £25 worth of bets on even money or better markets. There is no limit on which sporting markets you can place your bet on, only that the odds must be of even money or better.
Once you have made £25 worth of bets at even money or better within a qualifying week, you will receive your free £5 bet the following week. To remain in Sky Bet Club however, you now have to place another £25 worth of bets the following week, on even money of greater markets, to receive another £5 bet in the subsequent week.
What if I don’t make the required bet in a week?
If at any point during the promotion, you fail to make £25 worth of bets on even money or better markets, then your membership of Sky Bet Club comes to an end and you will not be eligible for a free bet the following week.
You can however, rejoin the Sky Bet Club by making a total of £40 worth of bets on even money or better sporting markets, in the week you want to rejoin. If you do this, then you will rejoin the Sky Bet Club and be eligible for a free £5 bet the following week.
Once you have rejoined by spending £40 on bets in one week, the following week, the limit for bets reverts back down to £25, so you then only need to place bets totalling £25 or more each week to remain in the club.
When will I get my free bet and when must I use it by?
If you have qualified for a free bet through the Sky Bet Club promotion, then you will find that your account is credited with the free bet no later than 7pm GMT on the Monday following your qualification period.
You must use this free £5 bet by midnight on the following Sunday, otherwise the bet will be forfeited, so do remember to use the bet during the week, though any bet placed using your free bet will not count towards your £25 Sky Bet Club spend.
What can I use my free bet on?
You can use your free bet on any market offered by Sky Bet.
Are there any restrictions on the type of bet I must make to qualify for Sky Bet Club or with my free bet?
There are a few restrictions you need to know about the type of bets you can make with your qualifying Sky Bet Club bets.
There are no restrictions on the bet you can place with your £5 free bet.
With the bets you use to qualify for the next free £5 bet as part of Sky Bet Club, you cannot place the following type of bets:
- Tote Pool Bets
- Forecast or Tricast Bets
- The following Multiple Bets: Lucky 15s, Lucky 31s, Lucky 63s, Patents, Trixies, Yankess, Canadians, Heinzes, Super Heinzes or Goliaths.
- If you elect to cash out a bet early then the stake will not be calculated as part of the promotion.
You can place a wager on a Price Boost deals offered by Sky Bet and this will form part of your wagering requirement to receive the free bet, provided that the selection is even money or better.
Am I the right type of punter to benefit from Sky Bet Club?
What is clear is that Sky Bet have decided to target regular punters who spend on average at least £25 per week on their betting for this offer.
This means that if you are a punter who spends considerably less, or who only makes infrequent bets of around that amount per week, then this offer isn’t really going to appeal to you or be worth your while trying to use.
However, if you regularly wager £25 or more, especially with Sky Bet, then this is a fantastic offer and one that you should immediately opt in for as it basically gives you a free £5 bet every week, simply for betting at your current level.
