Season Preview The Premier League 2023/24 Part Two – 10th to Champions

Welcome to the second part of our Premier League Season Preview for the 2023/24 season. Here we look at teams finishing 10th to 1st.

Welcome to the second and final part of our new-look Premier League 2023/24 preview.

This year, I am still reviewing the teams, only this time in order from where I feel they’ll finish in the table.

We started at the bottom of the table in the first post. Now we’ll list who we feel will finish 10th up to the Premier League Champions.

Just as in the first article, I’ll give you my reasons for why I have selected a team in a particular position. And of course, there’ll be a bet or two to consider backing for that selection.

All betting odds and markets you see in this post are or were available at bet365 Sport. However depending on how much time has passed between then and now, those odds may have changed.

If you have not already read it, check out the first part of the series where we reveal out picks from 20th to 11th, by following the link.

Let’s now take a look at the teams who are going to be at the business end of things come the end of season.

Premier League Predictions 2023/24

10th Place – Brentford

Thomas Frank is one of the most under-rated managers in the Premier League and I think he will work his magic with the Bees once again this season. Ivan Toney’s absence for half the season is a big loss, but Frank has signed a striker from Freibug to fill in and his moves in the market usually come good. I think the Bees will once again be a tough team to beat especially at home. Key Man – Kevin Schade.

Top Tip – Brentford to finish higher than West Ham – 6/4

9th Place – Brighton & Hove Albion

Roberto De Zerbi took this Brighton team onto a fantastic European place last season, but I think the extra demands of Europa League football, plus the loss of Alexis Mac Allister, and potentially Moses Caicedo, could be a big blow. The Seagulls won’t struggle and they’ll be a big threat to the top teams once again, but I think those legs may be a little more tired after those midweek games and as such, they could drop a little down the table this season. Key Man – Ewan Ferguson.

Top Tip – Pascal Gross to get 10 or more assists – 11/8

8th Place – Aston Villa

Unai Emery had started to work his magic with Villa towards the end of last season and with their key players remaining at the club, I think he will have the chance to keep up that good work. Breaking the top six will be their aim, but I think they may fall just short of that this season. Losing Jabob Ramsey was a blow in the summer, but if he is not out too long then a good start could put Villa in amongst things early. Key Man – John McGinn.

Top Tip – Aston Villa to finish higher than Brighton – 5/4

7th Place – Tottenham Hotspur

Ange Postecoglu has a big task on his hands. First can he persuade Harry Kane to stay, which I think he won’t. Then if he doesn’t, who does he bring in to replace the England man? With Kane absent I see more chances for Son and Richarlison in this team and as such, I think backing Son to get back to form after what was a quiet year for him makes good sense. Key Man – Rodrigo Betancur.

Top Tip – Heung-min Son to score 15 or more goals – 6/4

6th Place – Newcastle United

Eddie Howe did superbly well to lead Newcastle to Champions League football last season but that will put a huge extra demand on his team, something he has acknowledged several times during the pre-season. However, so far, the big money names have not come in to bolster the squad. In fact, some have moved out. Bearing that in mind, I think that Newcastle will just drop off the pace they set last season this time around. Key Man – Alexander Isak.

Top Tip – To Finish in the top 6 – 8/15

5th Place – Chelsea

Mauricio Pochettino has a big task to improve on Chelsea’s miserable 12th place finish last season and he has overseen a massive rebuild during the summer with hundreds of millions of pounds worth of talent moving on, and Chelsea also bringing in fresh new faces. It will be a new look Chelsea next season and I think a better team for it. I can’t see them qualifying for the Champions League, but they won’t be far off and a domestic cup win is a possibility. Key Man – Christopher Nkunku

Top Tip – Chelsea to win a major trophy – 3/1

4th Place – Manchester United

Manchester United are back in the Champions League, but there have been some comings and goings at Old Trafford. De Gea has gone, Maguire is likely to follow, several others may well too if reports are to believed. In has come Mason Mount and Andre Onana, and there are reports of United signing Rasmus Hijlund from Atalanta. They will need that and more if they are to challenge in the EPL and Champions League. Key Man – Marcus Rashford.

Top Tip – Total Season Points – 73 or less – 10/11

3rd Place – Liverpool

Liverpool have focused on rebuilding their midfield this off-season. Out have gone Keita, Milner, Oxlade Chamberlain and Firmino. Henderson and Fabinho could likely follow. So could Thiago. Klopp has promised that if players are sold more will be brought in. It was a rebuild that was sorely needed and despite the changes, I think we will see a much better Liverpool this season, especially of Alexander Arnold plays in a midfield role. Key Man – Trent Alexander Arnold.

Top Tip – Trent Alexander Arnold – 15 or more assists – 7/2

2nd Place – Arsenal

I love what Arsenal have done this off-season. Rather than rest on their laurels and take stock after a great campaign last time out, they have gone and bought big. Rice and Havertz are two great young talents who can come good for the Gunners over the long term and Timber is an excellent utility defender. If anything Arsenal are much stronger this season and I think they will push City very hard along with Liverpool. Key Man – Declan Rice.

Top Tip – Golden Glove Winner – Aaron Ramsdale – 7/1

1st Place – Manchester City

Last season’s treble winners will be many people’s favourites to win the title once again this year and I have to agree with them. However, I think it will be much closer this time around with City not quite having the strength in depth as they possessed in previous years and with Arsenal and Liverpool getting better, I think this will be a much closer race. Even so I am backing City to make it four in a row. Key Man – Kevin De Bruyne

Top Tip – Forecast – Man City 1st, Arsenal 2nd – 9/2

So that is how we think the Premier League will finish next season. Do you agree? Which bets would you back?

At the end of the season, we’ll check back on our predictions and see how we did!

Until then, it is time to get ready for the Premier League big kick off this weekend!
