Who Has Qualified For Euro 2024 And Who Remains In The Hunt For A Spot?

We know 21 of the 24 teams that will compete at Euro 2024 in Germany this summer. We take a look at each of those teams and preview the playoffs.

The Euro 2024 Qualifying campaign is now officially over. All ten groups have been completed and we now know the 20 teams that will join hosts Germany in the tournament next summer.

We also know the 12 teams that will be split into three groups of four to compete for the final three places in the finals next summer via next March’s Euro 2024 Playoffs.

In this article, we are going to take a look at the 21 teams confirmed as qualified. Additionally, we will also look ahead to the playoffs next March with a view to predicting the three teams that will qualify for the last three spots at the finals in Germany next summer.

You can enjoy a wealth of Euro 2024 betting already at bet365 Sport including betting on the outright winner and much more besides. Plus, closer to the tournament you’ll be able to enjoy outstanding group betting options and extensive markets on each match.

So, let’s begin our look through the 21 qualifiers with the hosts of next summer’s tournament; Germany.

The Euro 2024 Qualifiers At A Glance

Germany

 • Qualifying Record – N/A – Qualified as hosts
 • Best Euros Performance – Winners – 1972, 1980, 1996
 • Manager – Julian Nagelsmann
 • Captain – Ilkay Gundogan (Barcelona)
 • 3 Key Players – Joshua Kimmich (MC), Serge Gnabry (AMLC), Leroy Sane (AMR)
 • Bet365 Sport Outright Winner Odds – 6/1

It’s not been an easy time for the host nation. Just three wins from their last 11 games, plus defeats to Turkey and Austria in the past week. Julian Nagelsmann has. A lot of work to do to get his team ready for a home finals this summer. But you can bet the Germans will be ready and will likely reach the semis at the very least.

Spain

 • Qualifying Record – 1st in Group A – P8, 21pts (+20)
 • Best Euros Performance – Winners – 1964, 2008, 2012
 • Manager – Luis de la Fuente
 • Captain – Alvaro Morata (Atletico Madrid)
 • 3 Key Players – Lamine Yamal (AML), Rodri (MC), Fabian Ruiz (MC)
 • Bet365 Sport Outright Winner Odds – 7/1

A Spanish team packed with young talent, but perhaps lacking in the experience to really be amongst the likely winners at this tournament. They need to find a way to turn their possession into more goals but that said, I still think they are likely semi-finalists at the tournament this summer.

Scotland

 • Qualifying Record – 2nd in Group A – P8, 17pts (+9)
 • Best Euros Performance – Group Stage – 1992, 1996, 2020
 • Manager – Steve Clarke
 • Captain – Andy Robertson (Liverpool)
 • 3 Key Players – Andy Robertson (DL), John McGinn (MC), Scott McTominay (MC)
 • Bet365 Sport Outright Winner Odds – 80/1

Steve Clarke has done a fantastic job to get this team through a tough qualifying group relatively comfortably and he will be hoping he can finally get the Scots out of the group stages for the first time in their history. Depending on the draw, they may get that chance.

France

 • Qualifying Record – 1st in Group B – P8, 22pts (+26)
 • Best Euros Performance – Winners – 1984, 2000
 • Manager – Didier Deschamps
 • Captain – Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid)
 • 3 Key Players – Kylian Mbappe (ARC), Antoine Griezmann (AMC), Ousmane Dembele (AML)
 • Bet365 Sport Outright Winner Odds – 7/2 co-fav

For me, France should be the clear favourites to win this tournament. They have the best player in the world at present in Mbappe, a squad packed with talent and experience, a manager that has won the World Cup. For me I can’t see anyone stopping France from reaching the final.

Netherlands

 • Qualifying Record – 2nd in Group B – P8, 18pts (+10)
 • Best Euros Performance – Winners – 1988
 • Manager – Ronald Koeman
 • Captain – Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool)
 • 3 Key Players – Virgil van Dijk (DC), Cody Gakpo (AMC), Frenkie De Jong (MC)
 • Bet365 Sport Outright Winner Odds – 16/1

Beset by injuries at the moment, how well the Dutch go next summer could depend on how many of their stars they can get back with Depay, Bergwijn, De Jong, Timber, Botman, de Ligt and Van de Ven all hurt. If they can get as many of these players back, then they should reach the quarterfinals at least.

England

 • Qualifying Record – 1st in Group C – P8, 20pts (+18)
 • Best Euros Performance – Runners Up – 2020
 • Manager – Gareth Southgate
 • Captain – Harry Kane (Bayern Munich)
 • 3 Key Players – Jude Bellingham (MC), Harry Kane (AC), Bukayo Saka (AMR)
 • Bet365 Sport Outright Winner Odds – 7/2 co-fav

Unbeaten but unimpressive in their last two qualifiers, Gareth Southgate will need much more from his team if they are to live up to their pre-tournament favourites billing. If he can, then England should be semi-finalists at least. If not then there could be some big questions to answer.

Italy

 • Qualifying Record – 2nd in Group C – P8, 14pts (+7)
 • Best Euros Performance – Winners – 1968, 2020
 • Manager – Luciano Spalletti
 • Captain – Ciro Immobile (Lazio)
 • 3 Key Players – Gianluigi Donnarumma (GK), Nicolo Barella (MC), Federico Chiesa (AMR)
 • Bet365 Sport Outright Winner Odds – 16/1

They may have controversially squeaked through their group on head to head record over Ukraine, but you can count on Italy to be ready for the finals tournament this summer and anything less than a quarter final spot in defence of the trophy they won in 2021 would be a poor showing.

Turkey

 • Qualifying Record – 1st in Group D – P8, 17pts (+7)
 • Best Euros Performance – Semi Finalists – 2008
 • Manager – Vincenzo Montella
 • Captain – Hakan Calhanoglu (Inter Milan)
 • 3 Key Players – Hakan Calhanoglu (MC), Cengiz Under (AC), Merih Demiral (DC)
 • Bet365 Sport Outright Winner Odds – 66/1

Qualifying as group winners ahead of Croatia and Wales, beating Germany 3-2 in Germany. Turkey’s results are superb as they head into the finals next summer. This is a talented squad of players who if they can perform well, should reach the Round of 16, if not the quarterfinals at the very least.

Croatia

 • Qualifying Record – 2nd in Group D, P8, 16pts (+9)
 • Best Euros Performance – Quarter Finals – 1996, 2008
 • Manager – Zlatko Dalic
 • Captain – Luka Modric (Real Madrid)
 • 3 Key Players – Luka Modric (MC), Josko Gvardiol (DC), Ivan Perisic (DMALC)
 • Bet365 Sport Outright Winner Odds – 33/1

This may be a squad still heavily dependent on their vastly experienced players, but Croatia’s performances in recent tournaments cannot be ignored. I can’t see them being genuine challengers here, but I do think the quarterfinals is where they will reach for sure.

Albania

 • Qualifying Record – 1st in Group E – P8, 17pts (+7)
 • Best Euros Performance – Group Stage – 2016
 • Manager – Sylvinho
 • Captain – Berat Djimsiti (Atalanta)
 • 3 Key Players – Berat Djimsiti (DC), Armando Broja (AC), Kristjan Asllani (MLC)
 • Bet365 Sport Outright Winner Odds – 500/1

Certainly the most surprising team to win a group, Albania’s chances at this summer’s tournament are slim at 500/1 with the bookmakers and I do feel that is about right for a team I think will finish bottom of a group. That said, this is a young and improving team who could do better in future tournaments.

Czechia

 • Qualifying Record – 2nd in Group E – P8, 16pts (+9)
 • Best Euros Performance – Winners – 1976
 • Manager – Post vacant at time of writing
 • Captain – Tomas Soucek (West Ham United)
 • 3 Key Players – David Zima (DC), Patrick Schick (AC), Adam Hlozek (AMC)
 • Bet365 Sport Outright Winner Odds – 150/1

For me, Czechia, or the Czech Republic, is a team that blows hot and cold. They have some good players, high quality, but they don’t always perform and as such, I can’t see them making it out of the group stages in the summer, unless they get a favourable draw.

Belgium

 • Qualifying Record – 1st in Group F – P8, 20pts (+18)
 • Best Euros Performance – Runners Up – 1980
 • Manager – Domenico Tedesco
 • Captain – Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)
 • 3 Key Players – Kevin De Bruyne (MC), Romelu Lukaku (AC), Jeremy Doku (AMR)
 • Bet365 Sport Outright Winner Odds – 16/1

Whether Goalkeeper Thibault Courtois is fit for the finals remains to be seen, but Belgium qualified comfortably from their group, despite losing a number of top players after the last World Cup who retired from international football. This new crop of players though isn’t quite as talented but a Quarter Finals place should not be beyond them.

Austria

 • Qualifying Record – 2nd in Group F – P8, 19pts (+10)
 • Best Euros Performance – Round of 16 – 2020
 • Manager – Ralf Rangnick
 • Captain – David Alaba (Real Madrid)
 • 3 Key Players – David Alaba (DMLC), Marcel Sabitzer (MC), Marko Arnautovic (AMRC)
 • Bet365 Sport Outright Winner Odds – 80/1

It’s been a while since we have had a strong Austrian team, but Ralf Rangnick has modelled this team into precisely that. A 2-0 friendly win over Germany showed their credentials after they had already qualified. That said, I still think the Round of 16 is their most likely best performance next summer.

Hungary

 • Qualifying Record – 1st in Group G – P8, 18pts (+9)
 • Best Euros Performance – Third Place – 1964
 • Manager – Marco Rossi
 • Captain – Dominik Szoboszlai (Liverpool)
 • 3 Key Players – Dominik Szoboszlai (MC), Roland Sallai (AMRC), Attila Szalai (DC)
 • Bet365 Sport Outright Winner Odds – 80/1

For me, Hungary are the most improved team in Europe over the last two years. They have landed some fine results, including two wins over England, in that period and have developed a tight-knit, quality squad. I think they reach the knockout phase at the very least.

Serbia

 • Qualifying Record – 2nd in Group G – P8, 14pts (+6)
 • Best Euros Performance – Runners Up – 1960, 1968
 • Manager – Dragan Stojkovic
 • Captain – Dusan Tadic (Fenerbahce)
 • 3 Key Players – Filip Kostic (AML), Dusan Vlahovic (AC), Aleksandar Mitrovic (AC)
 • Bet365 Sport Outright Winner Odds – 66/1

For me, one of the teams that could go under the radar, or who could crash and burn. What Serbia will turn up in Germany remains to be seen but the quality to go relatively deep in this tournament is there, if they can play to their strengths.

Denmark

 • Qualifying Record – 1st in Group H – P10, 22pts (+9)
 • Best Euros Performance – Winners – 1992
 • Manager – Kasper Hjulmand
 • Captain – Simon Kjaer (AC Milan)
 • 3 Key Players – Joakim Maehle (DML), Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (MC), Kasper Dolberg (AC)
 • Bet365 Sport Outright Winner Odds – 33/1

This could be this Danish team’s swansong at a major championship with the vast majority of their better players aged 32 or older. For me, this is not as strong a Danish team as there has been in recent years and I can’t see them getting out of the group stage, unless they get a favourable draw.

Slovenia

 • Qualifying Record – 2nd in Group H – P10, 22pts (+11)
 • Best Euros Performance – Group Stage – 2000
 • Manager – Matjaz Kek
 • Captain – Jan Oblak (Atletico Madrid)
 • 3 Key Players – Jan Oblak (GK), Benjamin Sesko (AC), Benjamin Verbic (AMR)
 • Bet365 Sport Outright Winner Odds – 250/1

A very solid qualifying campaign wrapped up with a win on the final night of action. With a world class keeper and some decent outfield players, Slovenia will be a tougher team to beat than many are expecting this summer.

Romania

 • Qualifying Record – 1st in Group I – P10, 22pts (+11)
 • Best Euros Performance – Quarter Finals – 2000
 • Manager – Edward Iordanescu
 • Captain – Nicolai Stanciu (Damac)
 • 3 Key Players – Nicolai Stanciu (AMC), George Puscas (Genoa), Radu Dragusin (DL)
 • Bet365 Sport Outright Winner Odds – 200/1

Surprised many by pipping Switzerland to top spot in Group I. While still a shadow of the Romania team of the 80s and 90s, this will be their first major tournament for many years. That said, I think they may still struggle to get out of the group stages.

Switzerland

 • Qualifying Record – 2nd in Group I – P10, 17pts (+11)
 • Best Euros Performance – Quarter Finals – 2020
 • Manager – Murat Yakin
 • Captain – Granit Xhaka (Bayer Leverkusen)
 • 3 Key Players – Xherdan Shaqiri (AMLC), Manuel Akanji (DRLC), Breel Embolo (AC)
 • Bet365 Sport Outright Winner Odds – 66/1

Came through the qualifying campaign with just one defeat, but were not that impressive. A very experienced side, but one which sees their best players now all beyond their 30th birthday. Could find it tough to make it out of the group stage if they get a tough draw.

Portugal

 • Qualifying Record – 1st in Group J – P10, 30pts (+34)
 • Best Euros Performance – Winners – 2016
 • Manager – Roberto Martinez
 • Captain – Cristiano Ronaldo (Al Nassr)
 • 3 Key Players – Cristiano Ronaldo (AC), Bernardo Silva (MLC), Bruno Fernandes (AMC)
 • Bet365 Sport Outright Winner Odds – 8/1

Had the only perfect qualifying record of 10 wins from 10 games to qualify as top seed in the draw. Still reliant on Cristiano Ronaldo’s goals to an extent but have some good quality youngsters coming through alongside very experienced, quality players. A semi-final spot should be their initial aim.

Slovakia

 • Qualifying Record – 2nd in Group J – P10, 22pts (+9)
 • Best Euros Performance – Round of 16 – 2016
 • Manager – Francesco Calzona
 • Captain – Milan Skriniar (Paris St Germain)
 • 3 Key Players – Milian Skrinijar (DC), Stanislav Lobotka (MC), Ondrej Duda (AMC)
 • Bet365 Sport Outright Winner Odds – 250/1

A solid, but unspectacular side. Came through a relatively weak group and will find things considerably tougher at the finals next summer, hence their long odds.

The 12 Teams That Will Compete in the Euro 2024 Playoffs

The 12 teams that have qualified for the Euro 2024 playoffs based on their Nations League performances are as follows:

Poland, Wales, Estonia, Israel, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Georgia, Greece, Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, Iceland, Finland and Ukraine.

We also know the Path that 9 of the teams will be competing in.

Path A

 • Poland (Seed 1) v Estonia (Seed 4)
 • Wales (Seed 2) v Finland/Iceland/Ukraine (Seed 3)

Path B

 • Israel (Seed 1) v Finland/Iceland/Ukraine (Seed 4)
 • Bosnia & Herzegovina (Seed 2) v Finland/Iceland/Ukraine (Seed 3)

Path C

 • Georgia (Seed 1) v Luxembourg (Seed 4)
 • Greece (Seed 2) v Kazakhstan (Seed 3)

Finland, Iceland and the Ukraine will be drawn into Path A or B prior to the Euro 2024 Finals Group Stage draw, which takes place in Hamburg on the 2nd December 2023.

The Pot Rankings for that draw are already known and are as follows:

 • Pot 1 – Germany (hosts), Portugal, France, Spain, Belgium, England
 • Pot 2 – Hungary, Turkey, Romania, Denmark, Albania, Austria
 • Pot 3 – Netherlands, Scotland, Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czechia
 • Pot 4 – Italy, Serbia, Switzerland, Playoff Winner A, Playoff Winner B, Playoff Winner C

The draw will see one team from each pot drawn into each of the six groups. Germany will be automatically placed in Group A and position A1 in their group to ensure they play in the opening game of the finals tournament on the 14th June 2023.
