FA Cup Final Preview and The Latest Big Betting Tips

The Premier League season came to an end last weekend with Manchester City claiming the title thanks to their 4-1 away win over Brighton, ensuring that the Citizens pipped Liverpool to the title by just a single point. That win now means that City are in a position to complete a unique feat, the domestic quadruple of trophies as they have already claimed the Charity Shield, Carabao Cup and now the Premier League this season.

The only trophy remaining to win in England is the FA Cup and Manchester City have reached the final and will face a Watford side that they have already beaten twice already in the Premier League this season and who finished in 11th place in the league on the back of a disappointing final day 4-1 home defeat to West Ham United.

Our Tips for the Game

Full Time Result – Manchester City to win – 1/5 at bet365

It’s no surprise that City are such short-priced favourites to win this game. They have been by far the most consistent side in England this season and they have also scored more goals than any other team. Watford finished 11th and were beaten twice by City during the season and with City in the middle of an outstanding run of form domestically, you can understand why bet365 along with other bookmakers are not offering punters too much encouragement to back City for the win.

Watford are a decent side, make no mistake, and they did make it a very uncomfortable end to their game with City in the first match between the teams this season at Vicarage Road, however they were well beaten at the Etihad and in truth, I can’t see them having any realistic chance here of a victory, though I would love to be proven wrong. City should win this and win it comfortably.

Correct Score – Manchester City 3-1 Watford – 10/1

Having already suggested that it should be a relatively comfortable afternoon for Manchester City, the task now is to guess what the score will be in the final. Brighton showed last week that this City defence is not infallible and I think if Watford can earn some set pieces around the box, which is likely given their tricky wide players, they could perhaps find the net in the game, but in truth, even if they do I don’t see it as being any more than a consolation.

The problem Watford will have, as most teams have found this season, will be keeping Manchester City out at the other end and even if they do rest some first team players, they still have players with massive amounts of quality to make the difference and as such, I can see City scoring a fair few goals against a Watford side that leaked four against West Ham last weekend.

I can forgive them that loss though as no doubts their minds will have been on this game but even so, I think City, with the league now confirmed, will be ready to show how strong they are by landing a convincing win here and I think they are good for at least three goals here. As such, that gives us a 3-1 final score which is a 10/1 chance at bet365.

Anytime Goalscorer – Bernardo Silva (Manchester City) – 2/1

It may well be that the likes of Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero have captured the headlines this season for Manchester City, chiefly through their goalscoring feats, but Bernardo Silva’s contribution to City’s success has been immense. The ex-Monaco man and Portugal international has been an almost constant selection in Pep Guardiola’s team, suggesting that his importance to the team is well understood by his manager.

Bernardo Silva seems to be taking on the David Silva role in the team, with the Spaniard now pushing on into his mid-30s, his namesake seems like an ideal replacement. He also crops up with some crucial goals too, none more so than his opening strike that put City in front in the derby game with Manchester United at Old Trafford a few weeks ago.

Given that the midfield can operate centrally or down the left flank, he is difficult for teams to pick up and he is capable of either creating and scoring goals with his left foot, of beating men with the ball, or finding a killer pass to expose the defence. As such, I think he is an excellent choice as an anytime goalscorer at odds of 2/1 witn bet365.

You could also pair the anytime goalscorer bet on Bernardo Silva with the Correct Score bet of 3-1 to Manchester City in an Anytime Scorecast bet with bet365 which is offering odds of 20/1 on those particular selections.
