After Monday night’s electric relegation battle between Leicester City and Everton at the King Power Stadium, which finished in an incident-packed 2-2 draw, over the next three days we have four games taking place in the Premier league, all of which have implications at the top of the table.
Manchester City and Arsenal are battling it out for the Premier League title, with the Citizens taking a huge step towards landing their second Premier League title in a row after they demolished the Gunners 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium last week.
Both of those teams are in action this week as are a number of the teams directly below them as Liverpool, Manchester United and Brighton all have games that could impact the top six.
The action kicks off tonight with a massive London derby at the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal take on a Chelsea team still looking for its first win under caretaker boss Frank Lampard.
As usual, you can enjoy a wealth of bets on all the games this week with bet365 Sport, including extensive pre-match and In Play betting.
So let’s begin our look at the four games coming up this week, together with a more detailed preview of each and of course, our best betting tips for each game too.
Premier League – Midweek Fixtures – 2nd to 4th May 2023
Tuesday 2nd May
Arsenal v Chelsea
Stats Breakdown
- Arsenal – 2nd in EPL – P33, 75pts (+40) – EPL Form – LDDDW
- Chelsea – 12th in EPL – P32, 39pts (-5) – EPL Form – LLLDL
- Games Played – 206
- Arsenal Wins – 82
- Chelsea Wins – 66
- Draws – 58
- Last Match – Chelsea 0-1 Arsenal (Nov 2022)
- Trends – Arsenal have won five of last six against Chelsea, losing just once. Arsenal have now gone four games without a win in EPL action, their worst run of the season. Chelsea are yet to win a game under caretaker boss Frank Lampard. Both teams have scored in just one of the last four games between the two.
Match Preview & Prediction
Usually, this game would be a clash between two teams harbouring at least Champions League aspirations, if not challenging for the title outright and while Arsenal are very much in the race, Chelsea are having a nightmare season and caretaker manager Frank Lampard has not been able to arrest an alarming slump in form which has seen them lose four of their last five.
Arsenal’s form though isn’t that great with just one win in their last five and no wins in their last four. However, with home advantage and better form overall, I’d be keen to back Arsenal to land the win here.

- Last Match – Fulham 2-2 Liverpool (Aug 2022)
- Trends – Fulham are unbeaten in their last three games against Liverpool, drawing two winning one. Prior to that though Liverpool had won all the previous six. Both teams have scored in four of the last six games between the two. Liverpool are unbeaten in their last six EPL games, winning all the last four and drawing the first two.
Match Preview & Prediction
Fulham have a good recent record against Liverpool, winning on their last trip to Anfield and earning a 2-2 draw at Craven Cottage on the opening day of the season. Liverpool’s defensive frailties that day have dogged their entire season but the Reds have been better of late, winning all their last four games to move into fifth place in the Premier League table.
Fulham have lost their last two games but are comfortably in mid-table five points behind 9th place Brentford but five ahead of 11th place Palace. But at home, you’d have to back Liverpool to land another win here.

- Man City Wins – 61
- West Ham Wins – 38
- Draws – 19
- Last Match – West Ham 0-2 Manchester City (Aug 2022)
- Trends – Manchester City are unbeaten in their last 14 Premier League games against West Ham United. Three of the last five games have seen over 2.5 goals scored. Both teams have scored in 4 of the last six between the two. Man City have won all their last eight Premier League games.
Match Preview & Prediction
Manchester City’s relentless pursuit of another Premier League title continued with a win at Fulham at the weekend in what was a less than stellar display by Pep Guardiola’s team but one that shows just how difficult a team they are to beat. Having hit the top at the weekend, at least ahead of Arsenal’s game on Tuesday, City now look well placed to land another title.
West Ham have been in better form of late, moving away from the drop zone and they are now four points clear of the relegation spots, with a much better goal difference on the teams below them (bar Leicester who are just three goals worse off). However David Moyes will know, this game is going to be the toughest of the season and it is hard to see them getting anything here.
Top Betting Tips

Thursday 4th May
Brighton & Hove Albion v Manchester United
Stats Breakdown
- Brighton– 8th in EPL – P31, 52pts (+21) – EPL Form – WLWLW
- Man Utd – 4th in EPL – P32, 63pts (+10) – EPL Form – WDWWW
- Games Played – 30
- Brighton Wins – 5
- Man Utd Wins – 20
- Draws – 5
- Last Match – Brighton 0-0 Man Utd (FA Cup Semi Final – Man Utd won 7-6 on pens)
- Trends – Brighton have won 2 and drawn one (losing on pens) of the last 3 against United, but prior to that United had won all the previous seven fixtures between the two. The last draw between them in a league game came back in March 1983 (1-1).
Match Preview & Prediction
After a dramatic FA Cup Semi Final a couple of weeks back, that finished in a rare draw and saw Manchester United win 7-6 on penalties, the two teams now meet in the league with Brighton having won both the last two Premier League encounters between the two, including a 2-1 win at Old Trafford earlier in the season.
The Seagulls were in superb form at the weekend, resting key players but still beating Wolves 6-0 while Man Utd earned a hard fought 1-0 win over Aston Villa. The Seagulls will no doubt be out for revenge here in what should be a cracking Thursday night game.
Top Betting Tips
- Brighton to win – 19/20
- Brighton to win and both teams to score – 12/5
- Correct Score – Brighton 2-1 Manchester United – 9/1
- Kaoru Mitoma (Brighton) to score at any time – 9/4
