Everyone’s favourite festive darts event

Held every year around the festive period, the ushering in of the PDC World Darts Championship marks the start of the festive season for us. It gives us something extra exciting to watch on the telly as we wrap our presents and get ready for our big Christmas nights out.

The first day of action this year is pegged to be Thursday, 15 December. The matches start at 19:00 GMT.

Since 2008, the PDC World Darts Championship has been held at Alexandra Park, London. And this year is no different. This atmospheric venue is the perfect backdrop to the action and we’re looking forward to seeing it all play out here again.

Because of the time of year, there are a couple of strategically placed off days so players can spend the festive period with their families.

This year, the days off are quite predictable. They are Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day (also known as the 24 until the 26 of December) and New Years Eve (31 December).

Other than that, the action continues at a pace until the final on Tuesday, 3 January, which is due to start at 20:00 GMT. We cannot wait to see who’s squaring up against each other on that day!

When is a good time to place a bet on the PDC World Darts Championship?

Due to the fact we’re very partial to the odd sports bet, it definitely makes sense that we tell you what makes sense in that department. We like a dual approach to sports betting. Sometimes it’s nice to place a bet in advance of an event. For one thing, sometimes you get better odds. But for another, it’s a nice way to anticipate what’s to come.

However, placing bets while an event is underway is also a good idea. Sometimes around big events, online sportsbooks offer good promotions, bonuses and offers specific to that event. And other times, they expand their markets, making more available.

Whatever way you want to bet on the PDC World Darts Championship, we think bet365 is one of the best places to do it. It’s got markets for the outright winner of the championship open now, and we’re looking forward to seeing any extra offers that might pop up in December too.

Plus, you can use this bet365 bonus code to sign up, if you’re a new customer. And don’t worry, they do a great range of poker games too, so you’re covered on that front too!
