Why Run It Twice Could Be Twice As Nice When Playing At Bet365 Poker!

Give yourself an extra chance of winning at least part of a hand with the variance reducing Run It Twice feature at bet365 Poker!

Bet365 Poker has been making a splash in the online poker community for many years now and there is now a brand new feature available for players to enjoy on the site.

It’s called “Run It Twice” and it is only available in certain situations on the Premium Cash Tables that are a popular haunt for table games players at the site.

So what is this new Run It Twice feature and how does it work? What are the benefits or disadvantages of using the new feature on the site and does it cost you anything as a bet365 customer to access this new option?

We’ll explore the answers to all these questions and more as we explore what this new feature will bring to the table for bet365 Poker fans!

What Is Run It Twice In Poker?

If you have ever watched one of the many Cash Table games that are televised or streamed regularly nowadays, then you will likely have seen two players go heads up and at some point in the banter between them, a decision will be made to “run it twice” or even “run it three times.”

In all these cases, what the players are agreeing is that the cards that are to be revealed to complete the hand now that one or both players have gone ‘all-in’, will no longer be drawn just once, but instead will be drawn two or three times as decided.

If players agree to run it twice, then the pot will be split in half and the player that wins the first run through wins the first half of the pot and then the player that wins the second run through wins the second half of the pot.

If players run it three times, then the pot is split into three equal amounts and the hand is completed three times with the winner of each run of the hand awarded 1/3 of the pot.

With bet365 Poker though, you can only run the hand twice and there are some other circumstances that need to be met in order for the feature to be made available.

How Does Run It Twice Work At Bet365 Poker?

For the Run It Twice option to be made available at bet365 Poker, then the following criteria must be met:

  • You must be playing at the Premium Cash Tables at bet365 Poker
  • There must only be two players remaining in the hand.
  • Both players need to have gone ‘all-in”.
  • Both players must have agreed to run the end of the hand twice.

If these criteria are met, then the end of the hand will be played out twice, with the remaining community cards that have not yet been drawn, drawn twice on two separate conclusions to the hand.

The pot will be split into half, the first of which being awarded to the player that wins the first time the hand is completed and the second half of the pot awarded to the player who won the second time the hand was played to a conclusion (which may well be the player that won the first half of the pot).

Is Run It Twice Beneficial For Me As A Player?

The Run It Twice option does give you an extra chance of winning at least half the pot in the hand being contested yes, but whether or not it is beneficial to you as a player depends very much on the hands that each player holds, and how much each player and the other players at the table have contributed to the pot.

Obviously, the strength of your hand and the chances you have of winning each pot will play a key role in determining whether or not running it twice may be more or less beneficial to you.

The stronger your hand and the greater your chances of winning the hand, then the more likely it is that you will win the pot regardless of whether you run it once or twice. A very strong hand should mean that even if you run it twice, you will still likely win on both occasions.

However, if your hand has around a 60/40, 40/60 or 50/50 chance of winning, then if you run it twice, you then give yourself a good chance of winning half the pot at least as, on average, if you run it twice in these circumstances then you are statistically likely to win at least one of the hands, although that may not always be the case in reality.

Alternatively, if you only have a slim chance of winning the hand, then having the option to run it twice is a very positive one as it gives you another chance to at least claim half the pot back, which given the strength of your hand, makes it a very appealing option, even if the odds are against you in both hands.

There are positives and negatives to using Run It Twice depending on the strength of your hand compared to your opponent and your chances of winning the hand compared to your opponent.

You can use your judgement as to when it is best to use the feature or not.

Some players, especially those in a strong position, will happily Run It Twice to make it appear as if they are generous at the table, perhaps to curry favour with their opponents. Others may prefer to keep the odds in their favour and run it just once.

Whether or not you use the Run It Twice option is entirely up to you, but as we have explained above, there are certain situations when doing so is beneficial (specifically when you are the underdog to win the hand) from a statistical standpoint, and there are other times when it may be beneficial for your image at the table to accept the Run It Twice option when the statistical advantage is to just run it once.

As with all things in poker, it is entirely a judgement call for you to make when Run It Twice is available.

Does It Cost Me Anything When I Use The Run It Twice Feature At Bet365?

No, if you and another player decide to use the Run It Twice feature to complete a contested hand, then no charge is made for using this option.

You still pay the usual rake you would on the hand as if you run the hand just the once as in standard play, and no extra fee is charged for using the feature.

Alongside the All In Cash Out feature which we announced last week on the site, this new addition to the bet365 Poker site gives players even more options when playing at the Premium Cash Tables and gives you the flexibility that you can only usually get when playing Cash Games in person.
