What Are the Best Bets For This Weeks Matchday 5 Euro 2020 Qualifiers?

This week sees the first international break of the new season, but it is Bet365 Soccer Spins Freethe fifth and six matchdays in qualifying for the European Championships 2020. This special tournament will be a celebration of the 60th birthday of the tournament and will feature 24 teams playing across 12 different venues in host cities across Europe.

With so many teams able to qualify, it does make for less pressure especially for the top teams in Europe, but even so there is still plenty at stake in the qualifying competition, especially in the groups where there are three, four or even five teams who may feel that they have a genuine chance of qualifying for the finals across Europe next summer.

The games this week are split into Matchday 5 (Thursday to Saturday) and Matchday 6 (Sunday to Tuesday) and for the purposes of this article, we are focusing solely on Matchday 5 games.

Euro 2020 Qualifiers – Matchday 5 Tips

Thursday 5th September

  • Armenia v Italy
  • Bosnia Herzegovina v Liechtenstein
  • Faroe Islands v Sweden
  • Finland v Greece
  • Gibraltar v Denmark
  • Israel v North Macedonia
  • Norway v Malta
  • Republic of Ireland v Switzerland
  • Romania v Spain

Our Thursday Acca

  • Finland v Greece – Draw (21/10)
  • Israel v North Macedonia – Home Win (5/6)
  • Rep of Ireland v Switzerland – Draw (9/4)
  • Romania v Spain – Away Win (4/9)

£10 bet would return at odds of 25.68/1, thus earning you a potential return of £266.80 (including your stake money back)

This is a good selection of games. Finland are not the best side, but neither are Greece and both struggle to score goals, hence I think a draw is a good option here and you can say a similar thing for the Ireland v Switzerland clash, although both these teams are considerably stronger than the Finns or Greece. I fancy Israel on home soil to give North Macedonia a test and to earn a narrow win and I think Spain are good enough to earn themselves a vital win on the road against Romania.

Our Thursday Correct Score Bet – Republic of Ireland 1-1 Switzerland (5/1)

Although I think Switzerland are the slightly better and more experienced side of the two, I think they will sorely miss Xherdan Shaqiri’s influence in this game. Neither side are particularly prolific, but I do think at home the Irish tend to score more often than not but I also feel Switzerland have enough to grab a goal back and claim the draw.

Our Thursday Anytime Scorecast Bet – Seferovic to score any time and 1-1 Draw – 14/1

Haris Seferovic has been amongst the goals for Switzerland of late and seems to be the number one choice for the visitors and with Shaqiri not playing, I think he will be the main attacking threat for the Swiss in this game and likely to get their goal should the game end in a 1-1 draw.

Friday 6th September

  • Cyprus v Kazakhstan
  • Estonia v Belarus
  • Austria v Latvia
  • Germany v Holland
  • San Marino v Belgium
  • Scotland v Russia
  • Slovakia v Croatia
  • Slovenia v Poland
  • Wales v Azerbaijan

Our Friday Acca

  • Cyprus v Kazakhstan – Home Win (23/20)
  • Estonia v Belarus – Draw (2/1)
  • Germany v Holland – Home Win (10/11)
  • Scotland v Russia – Away Win (7/4)

This bet returns at odds of 32.86/1 with bet365 Sport. This means a £10 stake would return £338.60 (with the stake return included) should the bet be a winner.

I like the look of this fourfold. Cyprus are a tough team to beat at home and Kazakhstan are not the best travellers in this competition. Estonia and Belarus are neighbours and I feel Belarus are just the better team but playing at home should give Estonia a slight advantage. I feel the Germans are back on track and will narrowly see of Holland in a cracking game and lastly, Russia’s improvement means that I can’t see an awful lot of joy for the Scots in this crucial home game.

Our Friday Correct Score Bet – Germany 2-1 Holland (15/2)

Games between these two teams have been pretty common in recent times and they have usually seen both teams score at least one goal and often more. The last game finished 3-2 to Germany and I see a similar kind of game and scoreline here, but just perhaps with a couple less goals.

Our Friday Anytime Scorecast Bet – Marco Reus to score anytime and Germany to win 2-1 (15/1)

The diminutive Dortmund star has missed so many Germany games through injury but he is a real presence when he does play and with Sane out injured, I feel Reus will get a start down the left, where I feel the Dutch are somewhat weak and as such, I fancy him to grab a goal here.

Saturday 7th September

  • Kosovo v Czech Republic
  • England v Bulgaria
  • Iceland v Moldova
  • Lithuania v Ukraine
  • France v Albania
  • Serbia v Portugal
  • Turkey v Andorra

Our Saturday Acca

  • Kosovo v Czech Republic – Draw (21/10)
  • Iceland v Moldova – Home Win (2/9)
  • Lithuania v Ukraine – Away Win (3/10)
  • Serbia v Portugal – Draw (21/10)

A £10 bet would return at odds of 14.26/1 on these selections with bet365. Meaning, with your stake returned you could earn £152.60 if the bet is a winner.

I fancy the top and bottom games in this selection to be draws. Kosovo are better than the bookies realise and I don’t think the Czechs are quite good enough to beat them away from home. Similarly, I think Serbia are a decent side at home and Portugal just don’t score enough goals for me to make me feel like they will be comfortable winners. I do feel the Ukraine will win in Lithuania and I’m confident the Icelandic Vikings will earn a solid win at home to Moldova..

Our Saturday Correct Score Bet – England 4-0 Bulgaria (11/2)

Gareth Southgate’s team take on a Bulgarian side that are sorely lacking confidence and form at the moment and as such, I think England fans are expecting another dominant display at Wembley. I do too and I think England will grab a fair few goal sin what should be a comfortable win for the Three Lions.

Our Saturday Anytime Scorecast Bet – Sterling to score anytime and England to win 4-0 (7/1)

Raheem Sterling is in great scoring form at the moment, topping the Premier League scorer charts and also having netted four goals in his last couple of Euro 2020 qualifying games. I fancy him to be amongst the goals again here in what should be an easy win for England at Wembley.
